From the very start it was apparent that Joey had a calling for creativity, in his early years, while his friends were out playing sports he was home flipping thru pages of fashion magazines that his mom kept around the house. Soon after that, around the age of 14, he started to practice on his buddies from around the neighborhood. After attending “Modern Hairstyling Institute” in Puerto Rico his goal was another, to see the world thru this wonderful art form, and he has done it since then. He worked for many years with outstanding hairdressers, and even opened his own salon, named “Storm by Joey Nieves.” He knew that there was more to this than just cutting hair as a routine, so after a couple of years with the salon he sold it and begun traveling around the US, from Chicago, to New York, to Los Angeles, Arizona, Florida, stacking up new clients all across the US. On the summer of 2008 he relocated to Miami to join Qiu True Element. With over 14 years of experience in the field, he’s known to be the outsider; the not so ordinary kid on the salon, his vision on creativity and simplicity mixed together makes a perfect combination. With a background that expands from hair color to advanced haircutting, he became aware that hairstyling is more than just a job, “is an art form.” His academic credentials include:

Paul Mitchell Systems
Sexy Hair, Hair Locks Extension System
Rusk & Tigi Color
