From the onset, Marcos stood out for his creativity, his technique and his ability to create unique designs. This was all apparent from his very first job. Marcos launched his career in 1998, when he was only 15 years old, working as a barber. He immediately stood out for his talent and dexterity. Later, he decided to broaden his knowledge and began to study and perfect his art by also working on women.

Even as he studied at the Margurie Beauty and Technical College in Puerto Rico, Marcos was winning top prizes at some of the most prestigious beauty contests, including the “IBS Hair Show” in New York (1999), “San Juan Beauty Show” (1999) and the “Ponce Beauty Show” (1999).
In 2000, Marcos began a new stage in his career. He joined the “Regis” salons, the main division of the Regis Corporation, regarded as the biggest and most experienced chain of beauty salons in the world.
This phase, which Marcos describes as “one of the best experiences in my career,” was crucial for the beauty artist, and led him to consolidate himself at an international level through his outstanding participating in key international events such as the “Hair World Competition” in Berlin, where he won the Bronze Medal (2000), the “Hair World Competition” in Athens, Greece, where he also won the Bronze Medal (2002) and the “Hair World Competition” in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he landed among the top four winners (2002).
Months later, Marcos decided to go to the United States, with the purpose of further expanding his knowledge and experience. He arrived in Miami in 2003 and immediately joined “Victoria Hair Salon” in Coral Gables. Later, he joined the firm “Armandeus,” working from their Doral location, and partnered as a co-owner of the company’s Coconut Grove salon. Marcos has also collaborated with “Beauty Secrets” and “Horacio Salon,” both in Doral.
Beyond his extraordinary professional experience, Marcos is well known in the lecture and conference circuit as an expert in color and styling. Among his many appearances, he stands out for being the main panelist for three consecutive years (2000-2003) at the “San Juan Beauty Show,” Puerto Rico’s most important beauty convention.
The work of this young entrepreneur has graced the covers of magazines, such as Maxim en Español, Venue, and Siempre Mujer. He has also appeared on TV shows in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Following a decade of steady success in which he has changed the live and image of thousands of clients, Marcos has launched his own line of beauty salons. Qiu: True Element, is a unique beauty concept that brings together the infrastructure of a traditional beauty salon with image consulting and some of the most complete and advanced aesthetic medicine treatments available. Qiu offers first-rate services, uniquely created to provide a true and relaxing beauty experience.
The state-of-the-art facilities, located in Florida’s Doral area, will open to the public in Summer, 2008, under the artistic direction of Marcos, supported by his team of talented and highly trained professionals and experts in a broad variety of treatments, including color, cut, hair extensions, make-up and “medical spa” treatments.
